Timely information about the West River area

If you're a little behind with stuff and
you could use a hand (and you're willing to pay for it, of course),
take a look at our updated Neighbour Helpers section.
It's in our main menu under "Community"..

Or you can just click here.

At the WRRA AGM there were a few questions raised about parking problems in the neighbourhood.

If you wish to report a problem you can contact Hania Ellison, the Town of Oakvilleā€™s Manager of Parking, at 905 845-6601, ext 3310.

After business hours and on the weekend you can call for enforcement by calling Halton Region Police dispatch at 905 878-5511.

Oakville bus

After a successful trial period last year, Oakville Transit is extending its programme of providing free transit for seniors on Mondays throughout 2013.

Starting January 7, seniors (65 years and over) can ride free all day on every Monday. Seniors are asked to be prepared to show proof of age if required.

unsafe driver cartoonRecently a WRRA resident witnessed a van passing another vehicle travelling north on Queen Mary Drive. Needless to say, this is highly illegal. Unfortunately, not enough of the license plate was caught, so a report to the police in this case was of no use.

But if you see anyone driving badly in our neighbourhood, there's a way for you to let the police know, and you will remain completely anonymous: Simply use the Halton Police's Road Watch Program at http://www.haltonpolice.ca/PRC/Pages/ROADWATCH.aspx and file a report.

Help keep West River safe!

Twenty dollar bill Little things like the flowers that the WRRA plants in the neighbourhood can bring a smile to a person. Can you volunteer just a few hours a year to help out?

If you can't spare the time, please support your Residents Association by paying your $20.00 annual membership. You can drop your dues off at any Street Captain's home. Locate your nearest Street Captain by clicking here.

Or simply and easily pay your dues online by clicking here.
