Noise By-law

A staff report with recommended changes to update the Town of Oakville’s Noise By-law 2024-079 is coming to Council on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 6:30 p.m.

This update is the result of a review of the bylaw that Municipal Enforcement Services has recently been undertaking.

A public open house was held on September 11 at Town Hall inviting the community to learn more about proposed changes to the town’s noise regulations that would allow outdoor music on restaurant patios in commercial areas, Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) and mixed-use areas past 7 p.m.

Input and feedback from the public has helped inform the staff report and recommendations that will be presented to Council. The public will have another opportunity to provide their feedback by delegating at the November 18 Council meeting. To learn more about delegating to Council, please visit the town’s Delegations and Presentations web page at oakville.ca.
